Supporting Local Sports and Events
The Town Butcher has been a long-term sponsor of the Chilliwack Chiefs through prominent advertising. We remained committed to supporting the team even during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, fostering strong community partnerships.
In 2022/2023, we had the opportunity to support local student-athlete James Bedard in his kart racing endeavors. James achieved significant success, becoming a two-time Micro Champion, two-time Regional Cadet Champion, and representing Chilliwack by finishing 20th in the World Grand Final.
Fostering Youth and Inclusion
We actively seek opportunities to support youth and individuals with diverse abilities. Whether providing work experience through the Workplace Task Program or the District 33 Work Experience Program, we’ve helped youth gain valuable skills and practical experience in a professional environment.
For many years, The Town Butcher has also supported the Chilliwack 4-H Club by sponsoring the program and local young farmers. This contribution helps foster agricultural education and community involvement.
Giving Back to Families in Need
For several years, The Town Butcher ran an independent program for single-parent families in need. Each year, we collected and donated food and products to meet the needs of ten different families at Christmas. This included a turkey, fresh produce, canned goods, and toys for the kids.
Community Leadership and Service
Our founder, Bill Turnbull, is continuously involved in community initiatives, such as The Mt. Cheam Rotary Club and the Chilliwack Society of Community Living. As an active member of these boards, Bill supports multiple local and international community projects. Through CSCL, in particular, he contributes to the organization’s excellence in supporting community members with diverse abilities by providing inclusion, support, programs, and housing.
